Looking for a Computer Vision & Spatial AI Engineer to help build the next generation of Automax’s mobile property inspection platform.
This is a hands-on role focused on creating highly accurate, user-friendly property scanning experiences using computer vision, spatial computing, and mobile sensors. You will help turn smartphone scans into measurable floor plans, 3D property models, and immersive digital representations of residential spaces.
You will also work on AR experiences that guide users through the scanning process and make high-quality property capture simple for non-technical users.
Core Responsibilities:
- Own major parts of our mobile scanning and spatial-computing systems from research through production.
- Build and improve computer-vision, SLAM, sensor-fusion, and 3D reconstruction pipelines.
- Convert mobile scan data into accurate measurements, floor plans, and navigable 3D property models.
- Develop AR guidance and real-time feedback that improves scan quality and usability.
- Optimize spatial-computing systems for accuracy, performance, and reliability on mobile devices.
- Work closely with the founders, product team, and engineers to define and ship new scanning capabilities.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in computer vision, robotics, spatial computing, 3D graphics, or a related field.
- Experience with SLAM, visual-inertial odometry, sensor fusion, or 3D reconstruction.
- Strong understanding of camera geometry, pose estimation, depth sensing, and point-cloud or mesh processing.
- Experience with C++, Python, Swift, Kotlin, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with tools such as OpenCV, Open3D, ARKit, RealityKit, RoomPlan, ARCore, Unity, or similar frameworks.
- Experience deploying and optimizing computationally intensive systems for mobile or edge devices.
- Strong product instincts and the ability to make complex technical workflows intuitive for everyday users.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with indoor mapping, digital twins, robotics, construction technology, or property inspection.
